Editor: Thanks for doing this follow up interview with us, Jonathan.

Jonathan Siegrist: Yes of course! Thanks for having me.

Editor: We'll begin by checking out this super-amazing, must-see EpicTV video of La Rambla 15a:

La Rambla 9a+/5.15a video

Editor: You've been working extremely hard lately, you sent Freaks Of The Industry (V13). What was the most interesting part about this project?
Jonathan Siegrist: Thanks! I took a break from sport climbing this July and only bouldered. It was a really really cool experience and very eye opening. Freaks was one of my favorites that I finished.

I guess I’d say the most interesting part was just having tried the boulder a little bit a few years back and then coming back this season and having it feel so much more possible. It’s always nice to feel like you are improving.

Editor: That's true. What was Le Cadre Nouvelle like?

What stood out the most about it for you?

Jonathan Siegrist: This is a really cool route in Ceuse. It’s got a crazy jump move that was super hard for me - jumping and dynos are a weakness of mine. It took me some time to really figure out the subtleties of that move, and then work up to doing it from the ground. It’s always fun to work on a weakness but I have to say I was very satisfied and ready for it to be over when I finally sent!
Editor: Glad to hear that!

Life Beyond Walls - Siurana, Spain was really amazing to watch. What do you like most about it? Your fans loved it...Spain is amazing!

Jonathan Siegrist: Yes I totally fell in love with Spain. Siurana is for sure one of my favorite crags in the world. This was a really fun series to do because Cameron (the videographer) and I had such a ball together. He is a super funny dude and we just got in a fun groove, shooting almost everything I was climbing.

Editor: The video is just brilliant, your fans will really enjoy it.

Okay, we'll ask you some cool rest day-type questions:
When you have time, what do you read?

Jonathan Siegrist: Nothing. haha. I don’t like reading, and I’m embarrassed to say that because I want to like reading but I’d rather explore with my dog or watch films - better yet, listen to music.

Editor: Good choice. What kind of tunes are you enjoying these days?

Jonathan Siegrist: Well, I’m on a road trip right now and really listening to everything. Electronic to Hip-hop to acoustic to pop. Mainly, I love dance music but especially on long drives I will enjoy whatever. I tune into country stations every now and then even. Kind of love that.

Editor: What's the one food you can't resist?

Jonathan Siegrist: Baked goods. Macaroons, cookies, stuff like this. I literally can not resist. If it’s in front of me I will eat it. haha. My family has a sweets problem… And lately I am obsessed with anything pickled and olives.

Editor: A sweet tooth...you're not alone in that!

Are you a tea or coffee person?

Jonathan Siegrist: Decaf Coffee occasionally but mostly Tea because I avoid Caffeine. Rooibos or Decaf Chai are my favorites.

Editor: Thanks for your time, Jonathan. We'll do another follow up interview with you later this year.
Jonathan Siegrist: Sounds awesome! Thanks again for your time!

Editor: Always an honor, Jonathan.
